The golden downy buds from the Shen garden in the heart of Fengqing Valley were once reserved exclusively for the emperor. Today, they continue to symbolize the excellence and prestige of Chinese tea. Handpicked by the Dai, Wa, and Lahu tribes over just a few weeks each year, these buds come from robust tea trees with large leaves, rooted in fertile soils rich in humus.
The harvesting of these golden buds is a meticulous process, once a year during early spring, when the buds are at their peak freshness. The picking process is performed at dawn to ensure the buds are gathered when they are tender and full of morning dew. This careful timing enhances the flavor and aroma of the tea. The local tribes, with their deep knowledge and respect for nature, perform this task with great precision, ensuring that only the finest buds are selected.
TASTING NOTES
The liquefied golden hue of the tea is reminiscent of the rare leaves from centuries-old trees. An enchanting bouquet of fragrances—sweet orange, spices, and truffle—meets the nose, with subtle undertones of caramel and malt. On the palate, this tea offers a refined and expansive texture, with an unperturbed length akin to a wave of velvet. The initial sip reveals a honeyed sweetness, followed by layers of dried fruits and a hint of earthiness, leaving a lingering, creamy aftertaste.

BREWING INSTRUCTIONS
Heat water to 95°C/200°F
Steep for 4-5 minutes to fully unlock the aromas and flavors.

Fresh fruits like figs or mangoes enhance its sweetness, while light pastries like financiers or macarons complement its floral bouquet.
